INTELLECTUAL AND THEMATIC STRUCTURE OF ONLINE REPUTATION RESEARCH IN TOURISM: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY
##plugins.themes.bootstrap3.article.main##
Abstract
The growth of digital platforms turns online reputation in tourism into a strategic factor for the sector's competitiveness. In this regard, the present study analyzed the scientific production on online reputation in tourism and hospitality through an integrated bibliometric approach in Web of Science. A total of 27 documents were retrieved for the 2015‑2025 period, using a search equation that combined English and Spanish terms and business, sociology and information systems categories. Bibliometrix (R) and VOSviewer were employed to analyze performance, intellectual structure (co‑citation) and conceptual structure (co‑occurrence and thematic map). The results showed sustained growth from 2020, with a peak in 2025. Proserpio and Zervas stand out as the most productive and impactful authors. The co‑citation network reveals an intellectually cohesive field built around three clusters: service marketing, tourism application and platform economy. It is concluded that the field exhibits a methodological and geographical disconnection that limits the integration of computational advances with theoretical foundations and the representation of diverse tourism contexts.
