Abstract
This work provides basic information on strategic planning and one of its basic tools: the SWOT analysis that allows the collection and use of data obtaining an operational profile of a company. This analysis applies to any company, size or type. Administrative decisions have procedures to create a diagnosis, this makes it easy to obtain decisions and develop strategies. To better understand these processes, some of their basic elements are defined. Steps to do so are also pro- vided. The methodological aspects of this research include qualitative and quantitative, deductive, analytical and synthetic approaches. The technique used, which are the surveys directed at the CCN51 cocoa producers in the province of El Triunfo, allows the analysis and interpretation of the information collection, people provide real information to understand the current state of the environment both inside and outside the farm. business. Similarly, trends and changes occurring in the environment should be investigated. As a result, it can be concluded that there is a lack of understanding of the concept and importance of the strategic planning of the company to be able to propose a strategic plan for it
