Abstract

In this work, some numerical schemes were developed and compared to solve the one-dimensional Richards differential equation. In time, an Euler backward scheme was used, and for space, the finite volume method, with different ways of weighting hydraulic conductivity. The schemas were tested with a uniform temporal mesh with time steps of 60, 720, 2160, 3240 seconds and a uniform spatial mesh of 0.6, 3, 6 and 9 centimeters. The results were analyzed at 2 hours with a depth of 60 centimeters.
