Abstract

The lack of humanism and awareness towards animals demonstrates that one lives in a society where sensitivity towards them is not a priority or a moral principle. The objectives set were to know the current context of animal adoption in the city of Guayaquil for the determination of social behavior trends, then design a digital prototype as a tool to promote animal rescue and finally evaluate the prototype of the mobile application through user experience, usability and design. For the quantitative phase of the survey, it is estimated as a population of men and women from the city of Guayaquil who are between the ages of 18 and 65, the sample in relation to the inhabitants of the city of Guayaquil will consist of 384 objects of study. In the qualitative phase, applying the interview technique, we seek to obtain broad information that allows us to analyze, in essence, the current situation in which the Animal Rescue and Recovery Unit is located, the focus group, or also called the discussion group as a qualitative technique of research will be applied with the purpose of analyzing and knowing the user experience regarding the design of the mobile application. Taking into account the results obtained in the research, surveys and interviews, it was concluded to present as a proposal the design of the mobile application GARRA, whose functions were raised from an investigation carried out. 72% of the respondents showed their support for the creation of a mobile application, since they are aware that it seeks to generate a change in the community through the promotion of animal rescue, and, in turn, set a precedent in the animal protection in Ecuador.
